Biden Gives Obama a Break Ryan Cornering in a Vibrant Debate

It was Biden who else is playing after the poor performance of President Barack Obama in the first presidential debate, an episode that has turned to surveys restoring credibility to the Republican nomination. And the veteran former senator from Delaware, a generation older than Ryan, came to the set with energy and conviction that he missed his head for 10 days. That they asked the Democrats, and Biden did not disappoint.

It was comfortable, but surely lost forms. Was continually interrupted and Ryan scoring responses to interjections as "hot" or "nothing I say is true." And left over theatricality, in outlining every time he spoke his opponent an incredulous smile and sarcastic at times was patronizing and condescending.

"Stop telling me how much you care about people. Show me something. Muéstrarme the policies that you can atribuiros responsibility," Biden said to Ryan that never lost his composure. And that was not easy. Unlike the passivity displayed by Obama in the first debate, which in his words was "too polite", Biden poked in all wounds of the Republican campaign. Romney From ideas to let the auto industry went bankrupt his famous disparaging remarks about the 47% of Americans depend on the government alleged.

Foreign policy
"These people are my mother and my father, the people I grew up, my neighbors. And they pay proportionally more taxes than Romney." That moment led to the phrase inspired night. "The vice president knows that there are times when no words come out of his mouth the way one would like," Ryan replied, amid the laughter of the public citing the frequent lapses that are already part of the identity of Biden.

Besides the economy or abortion, is first addressed foreign policy, from Iran to Syria, to Iraq or Afghanistan withdrawal. And despite having no experience and compete against a heavyweight in the field, Ryan fell short. The Republican reproached his administration not to tell the truth for two weeks on the motives and perpetrators of the attack on the embassy in Benghazi (Libya) and accused him of leaving the UN and Russian veto policy to solve the Syrian conflict. He even said that Obama tried to block Iran sanctions passed by Congress and added that his threats to develop nuclear weapons prevent not credible. "What we are seeing on our television sets is the breakdown of Obama's foreign policy," said the Republican.

But Ryan did not wield substantial differences between the foreign policy of his candidacy and President. When Biden asked what they would do differently in Syria, went off on a tangent. "They've seen like never answers the question" was influenced by the Democrat.

Biden, lesson learned
As Romney did during the first debate, his squire tried to convey an image of moderation, despite Biden's insistence on casting doubt on its intentions regarding pensions or public health for the elderly and the poor. Ryan is the architect of the Republicans' tax plans, a deficit hawk who enjoys numbers, but he learned to maneuver without getting lost in the gory details.

Biden came with the lesson learned and exposed the hypocrisy of the Republicans to remember that it was his party that created the current debt with two wars and a healthcare bill on account of the credit card. "They talk about the Great Recession as if he had fallen from the sky," he said. "And now, suddenly, are scandalized concerned about a debt that they created."

Discussions of vice presidential races rarely altered, but last night served for two things. On the one hand, to re-energize the Democratic base after the disappointment of Obama and, second, to give body to the figure of Ryan as a potential vice president. Surely Biden won comfortably on points, but not everyone thinks so. A CNN poll published just minutes after Ryan gave the winner with 48% of the respondents' opinion compared with 44% of Biden.
