Romney and Ryan Attack China While Obama Prepares for Debate

Both candidates have high expectations of the second presidential debate to be held on Tuesday in Hempstead (New York), but judging from its agenda, the appointment is especially crucial for Obama, who arrived in Williamsburg (Virginia) for a marathon three days devoted exclusively to exchange preparation.

Romney, meanwhile, spent this morning to rehearse for Tuesday at a hotel in key state of Ohio, but by early afternoon the papers left to attend a new campaign rally at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth.

"It's time we face China for the traps he does. That has to stop," said Romney to a given audience, which said the Chinese currency manipulation is flooding the U.S. market with cheap goods manufactured in that country, hurting U.S. companies.

"We have to get those jobs that are being lost and make trade fair again," he added.

Romney was pronounced well after presidential running mate, Paul Ryan, criticized the Obama administration for delaying the delivery of a report on the rates of change in the world that should be released next week.

"This government has had its eighth opportunity to declare China a currency manipulator. They have to deliver it in two days and will put it off until after the election. I’ve Had eight opportunities to say: 'Let's have a fair trade,'" said Ryan at an event at Youngstown State University, also in Ohio.

On Friday, the Treasury Department announced it would delay the biannual report until after a meeting of finance ministers and central bank governors of the G20 countries, to be held in November.

Romney has pledged that on his first day in the White House to declare China a currency manipulator, a move that could lead to higher tariffs and that has not occurred since 1994.

Gabriela Domenzain, spokesman for the Obama campaign, responded in a statement to those statements by stating that "harsh rhetoric cannot hide the fact that Mitt Romney never applies heavy hand against unfair trade practices in China."

The spokesman said that in July Obama was criticized by Romney to "deal with China" with a complaint to the World Trade Organization (WTO) by the levies imposed by Beijing since December imports of motor vehicles.

Obama, who campaigned this week in Ohio, declined today ignore the presence of his rival in that key state elections and devoted his weekly Saturday at the automotive industry, very present in that area of the country.

"I want to see more cars on the roads in places like South Korea that have been imported from Detroit (Michigan) and Toledo (Ohio) and Chicago (Illinois)," Obama said in his message, in which he praised the rescue that industry during his tenure.

The president will remain isolated until Tuesday in Williamsburg, surrounded by papers and advisers to the debate, which is located between Sen. John Kerry, who plays for Romney in the trials.

For the Obama campaign sign is somewhat critical in Tuesday's debate, after Romney the clear victory in the first exchange that occurred in Denver (Colorado), and in which the president himself acknowledged having been "too right”.
